The Apostolic and It's Relation To The Prophetic

By Bret Wade

Lesson 7
Apostolic Reformation (Part 2)

One of the first things we have to realize is that out of the book of Malachi it was spoken that Elijah would again be released in the earth and he would turn the hearts of the children to the father and the hearts of the father to the children. That is a turnaround to where we are, so we are talking about the world being turned upside down. It is all the same thing because it is going in the wrong direction and the apostolic and the prophetic together always turn something around.

So God is interested in turning around the focus of mankind. Turning around where the world's governments are concerned and raising one up and setting one down. How many of you know that the devil cannot raise up governments that God has not got His Hand in? When God has His Hand in a situation, God knows how to take what the devil means for harm and turn it for good. I am not concerned about a 666 mark of the beast because I have been sealed by the Holy Ghost!

The world government may change its standard and they may change it to an electronic means of exchanging finances, but I am here to tell you something. God knows how to raise up a finance system. He says that the silver and gold are all His. In other words, every economical system that there is belongs in God's Hand. He can make Egypt give it all over into Israel's hands and it does not matter what the devil or the world says or your situation says. I know out of Jeremiah 15:21 how to redeem you from the grip of the terrible. He knows out to pay our ransom. It does not matter what the devil is going to try to hold you hostage with. God knows how to pay it. Sometimes God will just destroy the system to keep you from being in bondage to it. We need to see God is turning things upside down. We need some change.

You are cordially invited to a revolution. Your participation is required and is not an option if you are in the Body of Christ. We are going to see a revolution. It is arising on the horizon. Amen! In 1999, God told me He wanted a revolution resolution. What is a revolution? A sudden or sweeping change in a situation. An upheaval, a convulsion, a cataclysm. What is a resolution? A course of action determined or decided upon. What God is saying is that He wants you to determine a firmness in your heart, without swaying, that you are ready to see a sudden, cataclysmic change.

This is for everybody in the earth today. If the word revolution brings fear to your heart, we might want to ponder whether we are in the current move of God, or whether or not we are an old wineskin. If we think of revolution as rebellion, then we are thinking in the wrong manner. A revolution brings cataclysmic change to any system, people, or society.

One of the things that we can see that God did in the beginning is that He brought a cataclysmic change. The Bible says that darkness was over the face of the deep and the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters. What was He hovering for? Because everything that was needed for Him to bring order was there. He was waiting on God to speak to bring order. Everything that God needs to bring about the culmination of all the ages is already in the earth. It is not waiting for it to come. It is already here. He is ready to bring the culmination. He is hovering over the face of the people and He is ready to bring that change. Sometimes in order to bring order, you have to have divine chaos. Praise the Lord!

You see the thing is it is not chaos if you are holding on to the Lord. It's chaos if you are holding on to something old. How many of you right now can look back a year, two years, five years, and thought that you could have walked through some of the things you have. Didn't God show Himself faithful to you in the midst of it? Why do we get fear of the future? Why do we hold onto the past when God has something better in the future? He cannot fill you with the new until you give up the old. You have to be willing to give up the old to get the new. God is not going to pry it out of your fingers. He gives you the choice. You can have new wine or old wine.

So we have to have resolution for the revolution. We can have revolution, or we can have destitution. What does that mean? That means if you were one of the Israelites that decided you were not going on into the Promised Land, you were left in the old land and the manna quit coming down. That means when Moses went up to the mountain and they could not find his bones, you saw no leaders. You were just out there by yourself, looking at the Jordan, and wishing you had gone with everybody else.

Jesus came to comfort the afflicted, but He also came to afflict the comfortable. He came to upset the subtle, to break the unbreakable, and destroy the undestroyable, and to give life to the unlivable. When he gives life to the unlivable, it is not just those things that we cannot get to come to life -- it is those visions and dreams that we have held onto for so long. The timing has just not been there and He comes to bring life to it. Amen! He comes to breathe into those things and bring them to life in ways that we never thought He could do. I am here to tell you that if you have been holding on to the Lord, and you have hope and trust in the Lord, God knows how to get you there. No formula has any life, no method, or man's ideas or ways. The only thing that works is obedience to God. You cannot just be willing. You just have to go ahead and do it. Get it over with. Let your flesh become humble and go ahead and serve God with everything you have. God knows how to fulfill your life.

God knows how to have you raise up with a strength and boldness in Him that other people will think is arrogance. Sometimes when you serve God, you just have to shut out other people because everyone does not have the voice of the Holy Ghost in their tongue. Some people just repeat whatever they hear, and they hear these things and echo what they hear.

It is time to walk in the changes that God has spoken to us about. How many of you want the changes that God has already spoken to you? Well, see you have to do something different. If you want to be the 21st century church, you cannot keep doing things the way the 20th century church did it.

Acts 5:29 says, "But Peter and the apostles answered and said, 'We must obey God rather than men.'" Joshua 24:15 says, "And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve." Do you know that there are people today who think it is evil to serve the Lord when God is talking change? They will say, "Why are you talking such nonsense to me?" When you start talking change, you get less amen's. God is not asking something today that He has not asked already.

One of the biggest changes that came with the Protestant reformation was this. Martin Luther had a revelation that the just shall live by faith. One of the reasons that things came at that rate at that point in time was one of the greatest inventions in that time frame was the printing press by Guttenberg. At that time the scriptures were kept by the Catholic monks or priests in a language that was uncommon to the people. They kept it in Latin. What they did was take the Latin Bible and put it into the common language of people, printed it, and distributed it. It came to the place that there is no man standing between God and man except Jesus Christ. You are responsible for your own salvation. Choose this day whom you will serve. The Bible says the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Momma or daddy is not responsible for your salvation. You are. You cannot go into heaven standing on someone else's shirt tail. There is no proxy for righteousness. It comes alone through Jesus Christ.

You are again responsible for where you are. You are responsible for the choices you make. You are responsible for walking into the changes that God wants to bring. You are responsible for the level of holiness that God wants to bring into your life. You are responsible for your prayer, reading the word, for the Bible basics and living it through your life. The Bible says to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and serve Him from the heart and not the head.

God said something to me last year that rattled me to my core. It was a statement and not a question. If you have ever had God yell at you, you know what I am talking about. He said, "I am not limited. Why are you limiting Me?" I tried to give Him reasons and did not get a response from Him. What He began to do was challenge the way that I looked at things biblically. He began to challenge the mindsets I had about church. He began to challenge some things in my understanding that the only thing that I could say was, "Who am I that this is not God?" Who am I that I should ever stand in a place of being a judge whether something was of God or not of God because I have not seen all of God? But because something is different does not mean that it is wrong.

God is looking for reformers- -- somebody that is volatile, explosive. Something that is willing to be set off at any minute. Some of us are set off easily in our flesh. God is looking for us to be set off in the Spirit. When it comes to the things of God, we can get so dead and boring. You know why? Because we are looking for form and order. Something that will hem us in. The problem is that we are too hemmed in. We need to rip up some of those seams and get rid of those hems. Amen? I am serious.

We get too hemmed in. We think, can I pray? Can I not pray? Should I pray? Do I qualify to prophesy? Is the spirit of prophecy on you? You qualify. If God can use a donkey, He can use me. He said. "If you don't cry out and praise Me, I am going to cause the rocks to cry out."

God has been asking me, "Who will possess the kingdom?" The kingdom of heaven is at hand. God says, "The time is now. The kingdom of heaven is now. Repent and believe the gospel." What God keeps asking me is, "Who will possess My kingdom? Who will possess My anointing in this hour? Will those that I am speaking to possess it or will they refuse and become like those ten virgins that did not buy the oil when they needed it." See, the Body of Christ is asleep right now. One of the greatest reasons that is asleep is because the prophets have not been bold enough to speak because they have been afraid of man. I am here to tell you that it does not matter what man has to say, or religion has to say, it only matters what God has to say.

In the midst of the changes that are coming on the face of the earth, there will be a prophetic and apostolic anointing that will arise and it will produce the results that we see in scripture. There will be no hesitancy to it. Those that have trusted in God, and those churches that have held on to God will have an anointing from God that will cause even the magicians and the soothsayers to come to shame. God is going to reveal the secrets of their hearts and do miracles and swallow up their snakes. Hallelujah! There is a roar that is arising in the church and I do not care how passive the church wants to be. God is in this hour. It is going to take you to begin to decide that you will be transformed and walk in the ways of God. There has got to be an apostolic reformation for the church to possess the kingdom. Who will possess the kingdom of God? Who will walk through tribulation to enter that kingdom?

Out of Acts 13, it says there were certain teachers and prophets. It begins to name them all. Men from all different nations -- black, white, middle eastern, Greek. They were all there. It says that the Holy Ghost spoke to them as they ministered unto the Lord. He said separate Paul and Barnabus for the work where unto I have called them. After they fasted and prayed, they laid hands on them and sent them out. It begins to tell all the places that they went. The first missionary journeys were not made by missionaries. They were apostles.

They went on these journeys Over in Acts, the 14th chapter, it says, "When they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lyrstra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, 'Through many tribulations, we must enter the kingdom of God.'" Phillipians the 3rd chapter, l0th verse, says "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings." You see one of the things that the church has wanted is the power of His resurrection, but they did not want the fellowship of His sufferings. I am here to tell you today that in order to get the power of the kingdom, you have to walk through some things that you did not want to walk through. God does not take the tribulation away, but He gives you the ability to walk through it. When persecution comes, you should not pray for persecution to stop. You should pray for the grace to walk through it. Why? Because it takes persecution and pressure that makes coal into diamond. The reason the early church was so powerful was because of the degree of persecution that came on them. Why are we so comfortable in our lives thinking that we can have an American gospel that is free from any trouble?

Anybody ever told you that once you received Jesus Christ in your life, everything would be all right? The only thing that is all right is your soul. Everything else feels as if sometimes you are walking through hell. It is in the fiery furnace that you find out where the fourth man is. Again, I want to ask you the question--Who will possess the kingdom? That is something you can only answer to God. You cannot answer for anybody else. Before we answer quickly, we might want to look where Peter was. He said, "Lord, I will never deny you." But Jesus knew what he was going to walk through to get to the power of the kingdom. He knew that he would deny Him through times. Jesus also affirmed him three times. He said, "If you love Me, feed My sheep." Is it not interesting what God will do to bring us through when we only trust in Him? Amen?

It is time to get in the face of mediocrity. This means when you want to compromise. Get in it's face and say, "No More!" It is time to go over the edge. Like when someone is going over a waterfall. Once you get over that edge, you are not going back up. What all of us need to do is get over that edge where we are fully committed to something. I am not talking about church or your attendance. I am talking about being fully committed to what God has called you to be. If you are fully committed to what God has called you to be, the rest will fall into place.

We need to go over the edge to where we cannot return. No one puts new wine into old wineskins or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled. The new wine will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins and both are preserved. No one that has drunk old wine desires the new for he says that the old is better. It is a now time for the new. Right now --now next week. It is a now time for the new things of God. God is wanting someone that wants to be an 11th hour person. Someone that is willing to take a step that others will ridicule.

Change is going to come because the season of the Lord has changed. Not because the clock turns. That is why it is a now time for the new. "And doing this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand, therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the day, not in revelry or in drunkenness, sensuousness and lewdness, not in strife or envy, but put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts." It is now time to awake. It is now time to arise.
