                          Lesson From a Mug

So often we look to the Lord expecting Him to speak to us in dramatic and
spectacular ways such as when He moved the sun back 10 measures for Hezekiah
(2Kings 20). But more often than not it is through the simple things, the
everyday humdrum items, that He will speak, IF we are listening. Such was
the case for me this morning.

I was making a cup of tea, not my usual morning beverage, but that is
another story. I had the tea bags in my favorite cup, and the water began to
boil. I took the water and poured it into the cup. As I poured I heard
"Pingk." I said to myself "Pingk?" Then I heard "Pungk." "Pungk?" What's
going on? Then I looked down and saw a small puddle of tea beginning to
form. I picked up the mug and looking more closely at it discovered a tiny
crack through which the tea was flowing. Then the Lord began to speak.

"Many of My children wonder why the promises, the harvest I have spoken into
their lives has been delayed. They are dismayed and discouraged at the
trials and tribulations they see instead. But I see beyond their exterior
display to their hearts, and I see in them like in that mug a flaw. It is
not a big flaw, like the mug it is a tiny one, almost invisible. Because of
that flaw the mug could not handle the heat of the liquid placed into it,
and it as well as the liquid were ruined, wasted.

But I do not waste anything, not My Glory, not My Gifts, and especially not
My children. So allow Me to work in you what is needed to remove that flaw.
Then you will be able to withstand the heat of My Glory, My Gifts, and My
Presence, poured out in and upon you. It will not take long, but a little
while until the work is complete in you and then the Glory of My Presence
will be able to come, for YOU my beloved will be able to stand in it's
presence."
