Dear Teresa
I am writing you from Hong Kong. I have a friend (a sister) who loves God very much. It China it is normal for new believers to receive ministry to break generational curses. My friend has already had that type of ministry, and she has been delivered from generational curses, ancestral vows and dedications, generational spirits, and the like.Even after this ministry, she is experiencing problems that involve fantasy types of dreams. She has prayed about this a great deal, but she can't seem to get control of it. She wakes up feeling upset and dirty and guilty because of the sinful nature of her dreams.
How should we handle her problem?

Dear Wanting To Help My Friend
I am guessing that the "fantasy dreams" your friend is having are sexual in nature? If so, then she will be very relieved to know that her experience is not that uncommon. There are demons that specialize in causing people to have sexual dreams. They attack both believers and unbelievers. The demons who attack women sexually (usually in their dreams) are called Spirits of Incubus. The ones that attack men are called Spirits of Succubus. The attack can be anything from mild sexual urges and lusts to from self-play to foreplay to full intercourse to assorted twisted and disgusting variations on intercourse. Typically the demon starts at a lower level of attack and then (by virtue of repeated attacks) builds up to a higher level. These spirits are very low level demons. That means they are quite weak compared to most demons. They are what we call "free loaders" -- most of the time they don't have any "legal right" to attack the person. This means there is nothing they can hold onto when someone commands them to leave in Jesus' name. They are very afraid that the person they are attacking will go to someone for help, and that person will use their authority in Jesus to make them leave. So they try to operate as secretly as possible. They don't want anyone to know they are there because they don't want to be evicted.
That is why they use shame, embarrassment and guilt on the person who they attack. They try to make that person feel that they must keep their "bad dreams" as a dark secret and they would be ashamed if anyone found out. The demon's whisper that sort of thing to the person so that they will keep the attacks secret. The truth is that the person being attacked in their sleep with sexual dreams is not sinning. The are a victim of a demonic attack, similar to how a person who is raped is a victim.
If your friend's problem is caused by a Spirit Of Incubus, this is a very easy problem to deal with. You need to educate her about the demon and about the authority that Jesus has given to each of us who are called by His name. Let her know that is being attacked by a demon when she has these dreams and tell her that God doesn't consider it a sin because the demon is causing the dream. Then pray over her in the authority of Jesus and command the Spirit Of Incubus to leave her. Break it's assignment over her. That will get rid of it.
A sample prayer might be something like, "Spirit Of Incubus, I come in the authority of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. I cancel your assignment and I command you to leave right now, in Jesus' name."
They are very easy to get rid of, because they don't have any right to be there in the first place. But these pesky demons will often try to come back. Jesus talked about this in Matthew 12:43-45: "43 'When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, "I will return to my house from which I came." And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.'"
That is why it is important to teach your friend how to take authority herself. Then if the demon comes back, she should rebuke it as soon as she wakes up from the dream and realizes that she has been attacked by the demon again. That is also why it is important for her to know that God doesn't consider her as being in sin when a demon attacks her this way. The demon is sinning and she is the victim. Nothing in the attack can decrease the authority that Jesus has given her. When she rebukes the demon, it must leave her. Some of these demon's don't try to come back at all, they go look for someone else who doesn't know to rebuke them. But others might try to come back for a week or two. As long as your friend keeps exercising her authority in Jesus and commanding it to leave, then it will eventually give up.
If her problems are caused by a spirit of Incubus, that is a very easy thing to fix. However, there are times when our own tormented souls can cause us to have undesired sexual dreams. An example might be when someone is raped or otherwise sexually abused, and her emotions are tormented by that experience. She may "relive" the experience in her dreams. That would be something that needs inner healing (and possibly deliverance from sexual spirits or spirits of shame, etc).
Those types of problems are much more difficult to deal with than a simple Spirit Of Incubus, because the person needs the Lord to touch and heal/restore their heart. Usually God does that type of inner healing through a process rather than as a "quick fix."
Try the authority prayer with your friend. A Spirit Of Incubus is the most likely cause of her problem, and that type of demon is very easy to get rid of. If that doesn't work, they your friend may need to get some type of inner healing. But chances are that a simple authority prayer will solve her problem.
