Announcing: Upper Room Discourse

The Healing School Training Mini-Course Series... a series of short classes and (teaching and discussion) that will be offered on the healing-school list. Various members of the leadership core will teach short courses on a topic relevent to praying for the sick and seeing God heal them.

Upper Room Discourse

Mondays, beginning Feb 28, 2005; lasts for 9 weeks.

Course Contents/Description:

This course looks at the passage of Scripture spanning John chapters 14 to 17, which is the last time Jesus met with His disciples before He was crucified. He knew that He was about to die and He shared the things that were most important to Him with His disciples. This was not only for the twelve disciples that walked with Jesus, but for each believer throughout history who is called by His name. God has been quickening seven points to me from this passage and I want to share them with you:

1. Jesus wants to bring glory to the Father by doing miracles through His followers.
2. God wants to reveal Himself to us as we draw near to Him in intimacy and obedience.
3. We are to bear fruit and to experience God's Spirit living within us and working through us.
4. Our joy is to be full.
5. God gives us supernatural revelation of His will as we serve Him.
6. Revelation of God's will produces fruit as we act on it.
7. We will have great joy as we walk in Jesus' authority.

God doesn't just want to give us intellectual understanding of these seven points, He wants them to soak into our spirits, so that they might change and transform us, and enable us to move with God in greater measures of His power and anointing. He wants to bring glory to His name by working through us to do miracles and healings and signs and wonders.

And this teaching series will help us to begin experiencing this in our lives.

(The "Healing-School" list will continue to function as it has been with other discussion as well, centered around topics pertaining to praying for the sick and healing; but in addition to the "regular stuff" we will be giving and receiving feedback about the information contained in each weeks teaching article.)
