(I was trying to get to sleep. I had a vision that kept me awake. I pray that this vision will help those who are saved as well as those who are not saved. May peace and the presence of Jesus be with you.)

Walking side by side with Jesus

As I walked next to Jesus there also with him was a multitude of people, too many to count. A long trail of people as far as the eye could see. Jesus was throwing down flames of fire.

I was excited and watching the flames of fire land on the ground. As we walked, he was throwing them down to the right of him and to the left of him. People were picking up the flames of fire and carrying them. Those who were at Jesus' side were holding the flame in their hands and close to their body. Further down the trail the people were stuffing the flame under their coats and the fire was going out. Others were walking past the flames, they did not notice these flames or they did not want to pick them up. Further down the trail at the end, the people were stamping out the flames they were throwing water on them.

I asked Jesus what are the flames of fire and why are you throwing them to the ground?

Jesus said: "These flames are my father's Holiness, Righteousness, Glory, Joy, Peace, Mercy and Grace. These flames are my fathers' words." Then Jesus said: " I am throwing these flames down for you to pick up, for this is my love flaming for you. You are to pick them up and hold them close to your body. Do not let them go or put them out, keep them in your hand and let the wind of my father keep them lit."

After this vision I ask the lord to tell me what this means, this is what I feel the application is:

The people up front walking by Jesus' side and holding the flame in hand close to their bodies, are people who cherish Gods love and his word. They are those who are faithful and obedient children of God. They listen and obey Gods word, follow Jesus' command to pick up the flame and hold it close. The command to let God's wind blow on the flame is like a gentle breeze that keeps a fire lit. The wind blown makes the flame hotter. This is growing and living in the spirit. Only by Gods flame and fresh wind of the Holy Spirit can we grow! Notice what the flames are, if we hold fast to those things God will surely touch us. These people are with God!

The people who were taking the flames of fire and putting it in their coats, and the fire was going out, were self righteous people. They are puffed up by the flames of God, they were religious people who are full of pride. They did not listen to the command of Jesus and therefore they smothered the flame under their coat. These people think they are with God because they are carrying the flame. They are not aware that the flame is out and that the wind of God cannot blow on it. Because of their self righteousness and pride, they are separated from God!

The people who past by the flames of fire and didn't notice them, are people who are spiritually blind to the things of God, Jesus, and the word of God. They are unaware of God's flames. The people who didn't want to pick up the flames of fire are those who are uncertain, afraid and not sure of God. Both these people walk in spiritual darkness not knowing the truth of Gods flame. They either don't see the flames or feel they are not sure of what to do with them. So they don't pick them up. These people follow the crowd because everyone else is, they are in the mist of spiritual things but don't know God

The people at the end were those who hated God and his word. They refuse to receive the flames of fire. They only want to destroy and stamp out God and his word. These people walk with the crowd only to put out the flames of fire and have anger and hate in their heart. These people are the wicked.

Jesus' command was to hold the flame in your hand and close to your body. Too not to let go of it or put it out, but to hold it in our hand and let the wind of God blow on it.

The multitude of people are the world. This is the order that God has put before us. Jesus gives a command. God sets before us his flame we have some choice's.
1. To receive it, listen and obey and let God move in our lives.
2. We can take what God gives us, disobey and use it to are own selfishness and be fooled into thinking we are with God.
3. We can pass up and ignore what God has for us or never take that step to know him.
4. We can refuse God and all that he has for us and rebel against him.

What is your choice? I ask you what person are you in this multitude of people? What person do you want to be in this multitude of people? May your hearts keep you or move you side by side with Jesus. May you pick up the flames of fire and hold them close to your heart. May you find Jesus in this multitude of people. May God the father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit be with you all.

In Christ,
Mark Holmes
