A Skate

I pictured a skate. It was the kind I used as a child in the 50's. It was shiny metal, with a leather strap, and metal wheels. It would attach to your shoes, and you had a key to tighten the clamps around the sole. Not great skating, but we thought it pretty good back then.

But who would want them now? Kids (and adults) want inline skates for the street these days.

I felt like this was a picture of much of the church--still in the 50's. The methods, the songs, the lingo, the teachings, the thought patterns. A lot of church efforts and programs did well then, but may not be what works today, may not be what God is doing today.

God wants us to get "in line" with what he wants to do today.
