                          An Invitation

Child of Mine, I am inviting you to a place of intimacy.  In order for you
to go there with Me, you will have to lay aside the things that distract
you from Me, the things that pull on you and that demand your attention.
I am asking you for a greater measure of your time, a greater measure of
your attention.  It is not enough to have daily devotions, you must also
give Me your leisure time.  I desire to break into your day at times when
you do not anticipate it -- and I expect you to receive Me whenever I
choose to break in.

Child of Mine, how do you spend your leisure time?  Do you watch television
to forget the cares of the day?  Do you allow the computer and internet
to consume large portions of your time?   Are you an avid reader?  Are
you one who spends large amounts of time on the telephone?  Which of these
do you use as your substitute for spending time with Me?  I desire a greater
measure of your time.  Why?  Because you tend to spend your time and energy
on the things that you value.  Child of Mine, do you value Me more than you
value your leisure?  Demonstrate this by giving Me a priority on your time.

I want to take you to a new dimension in your relationship with Me.  I
want to consume your senses, I want to fill your thoughts.  Child of Mine,
I want to activate your imagination that it might be used to My glory.
I want you to think and dwell on things of God.  I want to meet you in
the quiet place and I want to speak to you.  I want to manifest Myself
to you and I want to cause you to understand more things of My kingdom.
I want to flood your senses with My manifest presence and with My glory.
I desire an intimate relationship with you.

I am not asking you to cut out of your life all of the things that you
enjoy -- but I am asking you to make Me a higher priority than these
things.. to elevate Me above them.  Child of Mine, I am offering you an
invitation to spend more time with Me that we might grow closer to each
other.  Will you accept My invitation and lay aside some of these things
to put Me first?  Will you reach out and take My hand and allow Me to
remove the hindrances and distractions from your life?   Will you sit
at My feet, be still in My presence and allow Me to manifest Myself to 
you at a greater degree?  Child of Mine, will you accept My invitation?
