The Cross and the Waterfall
I had a vision at a conference where I began to see a picture of a
cross and a waterfall over the speaker's head. I was looking at the
falls from the upper right side, and as the view unfolded, I could
see the arms of a large cross stretching out across the lip of the
falls just under the surface. The top of the cross, was standing
clear above the water and looking down, I could see the base anchored
firmly in a sheltered place of the rock under the bottom of the falls.
Because the cross was anchored to solid rock, its upper arms were able
to stand against the flow of the current. The arms of the cross were
only faintly visible, yet I knew they were there by the movement of
the water deflecting off and over them as it passed.
I believe the picture speaks to wounded believers of strength in
turbulence.
The Lord is saying that He is strong for us. He is our strong tower.
He is our place of safety. When the current of life's circumstances
are carrying us on a bumpy ride toward the edge, He declares, reach
out and take a hold of the cross. Take a hold of the cross, for He is
our place of safety and He is our strength.
As we take hold of the cross, remember it is anchored to the rock. It
is anchored to a place of security, shelter and stability under the
falls. As we take hold of the cross, we take hold of Jesus. Do not
fear, for Jesus has no fear. The circumstances around us may not appear
to change, but He is our safe place. The waters may be swirling around
us, and we may be wondering " what next", that there appears to be "no
way" from that place. At this time, be assured that He will make the
way for us to safety. He will stand firm for us, and shield us and
protect us. What we need to do is take a firm grip, lift up those tired
arms and hang on.
Cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us and in Him, we will
find the place of rest for our souls.
