Prison Camp Dream

Friday morning, I dreamed I was in a prison camp. The building we were in had one large oblong room with beds along one wall, and a fireplace and shelves along the other, and there were doors on each end. Behind the middle beds there was a door that led to a kitchen. The idea was that we would not have to leave the building. The people were male and female of ages varying from child to elderly. In the dream one man led us out one door to get food for the kitchen. We went to a normal supermarket, and bought groceries, and then rushed back to the building through the same door we had left through.

Then the commandant came to visit us. He seemed to be a nice man who wanted to get to know us. At this time one boy escaped, didn't come back, and didn't appear to be missed.

The commandant decided to set us up with the internet, so we could let our families know we were alive and well, and have contact with the rest of the world. To do this he needed some special software, and asked us to go with him to find it. He led us out the other door, and up a busy street. When he went into a store we spotted the software on a brochure stand on a street corner, took it, and ran back to the building using the door we had left through.

At this point another woman came in, and wanted to stay with us. I told her all the beds were full, but she could have a couch in the kitchen to sleep on. She didn't like that, and left.

What struck me about this dream was that twice we were led out, and chose to go back to the prison building the same way we had gone out.

There was no full camp, and ours was the only prison building in the area. Someone came in , and wanted to join us, because it was a safe place.

What I began to see was that it was a prison of our own making. Though we felt imprisoned and frustrated, we didn't really want to leave. It was a safe place to hide, and we liked being there.

I believe God is saying that some of are in prisons of our own making where we feel safe, but also feel limited and frustrated. I think I hear the Lord saying...

Put your hand in Mine and let Me lead you out of this prison which you have made for yourself. Do I not set the prisoners free? Have you hungered for freedom? Let Me loose the chains of fear that keep you in your safe little prison. Trust Me. I will lead you to vulnerable places, and I am perfectly able to keep you safe there. Together we can de-construct your prison. My hand with you will gently remove every plank that keeps you from stepping fully into My will for you. You have held on to the dreams that I have given to you, and not thrown them away. Those dreams burn in your heart with a deep longing to see them become dreams come true. Sometimes you have wondered if you were crazy, or wrong, to hold on to those dreams. Trust Me and take My hand, and I will give you the fulfillment of those dreams. Come, let Me lead you out of your prison to the place where you step out in My will, and where I can make all your dreams come true.

Blessings to you,
