A Christmas Word
Christmas is a time that you seek to give good gifts to those who you
love. This is right and fitting, for I have given you the most precious
gift that I could possibly offer you -- I have given you My dear son!
Christmas is a time when you desire to have a perfect family meal, with
many special treats and delicacies. You desire to set a perfect table that
your entire family will enjoy. This is also good and proper, for I have
set an end-time feast table that I am inviting My family to. Has not
My Son said, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink!" Has He
not also said of the bread and wine, "take and eat," "take and drink,"
"this is My body" and "this is My blood poured out for many". Has He
not said, "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of
the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."
I tell you that the feast that I have set before you is My Son, and that
as you eat of Him and as you believe in Him, then you inherit eternal life
and you will enter into My family and you will be invited to My end-time
feast.
Yes, there are reasons and meanings behind many of the traditions of the
Christmas season. But a trap of distraction has been set for you by the
enemy of your souls. He tries to put obligations on top of the traditions,
that the joy of the season is drained from some of you because you cannot
afford or you cannot find the right presents. Then your focus is transferred
from what I have done for you to what you must do for others, under the
burden of false obligation. Some become so burdened by cooking and cleaning
and preparing to receive the family that they become exhausted and unable to
think of what Christmas is really about -- the expansion of My family through
the gift of My Son. Some become so distracted by the business of the season
that they do not have time for Me -- and yet the whole purpose of Christmas
is that man might freely be able to come to Me, no longer separated by their
sin and their guilt.
Children of Mine, I love you dearly. I have paid a great price and I have
given a costly gift that you might enter into My family and become My own.
Now, this Christmas day, I ask that you set aside the traditions and the
business for a little while and come to Me. Remember what this day is
about. Then look to Me -- look not at what I will do for you (though I
will do many good things for you and give you many good gifts). Rather look
to what gifts you might present to Me this Christmas day.
Let Me tell you what would please Me, what gifts you might bring to Me this
Christmas day. Bring Me your worship. Set in your heart a deep commitment
to obey Me in all things, to truly make Me your Lord. Bring me your willing
obedience, a commitment to my Lordship, to obey Me because you love Me.
Spend time on Me, for your time is one of your most precious possessions and
you spend it on the things that are dearest to you. Show Me that I am dear
to you, give Me your time and give Me your obedience and give Me your
worship. This is what I want from you, My child, for Christmas -- not just
for this one day, but all throughout the year. This is what I desire of
you. Will you give it to Me?
