Your Foundation
Hebrews 11:8-10
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later
receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did
not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the
Promised Land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in
tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the
same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with
foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
Abraham was moved away from houses and people. I moved him from customs and
ways that were not My own and set him in a new and alone place. I moved
him from the familiar into the unfamiliar.
I know the thoughts of your head. I know that you look at others and see
that they have reached here and attained various levels in their lives,
and I know you wonder at these people, who seem to do well yet do not walk
with me. They have chosen the world. They made a different choice from
you. You have chosen life. Your reward is to come. You are in the same
world as them, yet you have chosen a different walk. You have chosen Me.
You have chosen the place where the lion lays down with the lamb, where
the child will place her hand in a vipers nest and not be bitten. You
have chosen the truth. When you chose, you turned your back on the world
and all its false promises, and you walked with Me.
Sometimes it may seem I have planted you in an unfriendly wilderness, yet
My church is also planted in an unfriendly world. I have told you to go
into all the land and preach the Gospel to every creature. I have told
you I will bless you, bless you and your seeds. No matter where you go,
My blessing never leaves you. I will reveal the paths of peace as you
learn to trust in Me. Remember that I am not man that I should lie. You
have chosen me and I will see you through. I have plans that will unfold,
I have reasons that I will share. Your rewards, My child, are wrapped in
My arms. Abide in Me. There is much for you, but they are not wrapped
in the packaging of the world.
The new can only come with the removing of the old. This can be painful.
This can be hard, but, have I not promised that I will never give you more
than you can bear? Did I not say I will make a way out? Remember.
Remember all the promises that I have made. Promises that are YES and
AMEN. Walk forwards and do not worry. Do not fear. I am beside you.
I am your firm foundation.
