Whispers
The enemy of your soul is using a strategy against you. That strategy
is for him to watch for the times that I bring you into My refiners
fire, then to whisper things in your ear designed to make you think
that I am unhappy with you. He does that to try to make you will pull
away from Me. He wants you to believe that you are not doing enough
for Me from that place in My furnace, or that you are not praying
enough or not reading My word enough, and so on. He wants to make you
think that I am either disappointed or angry with you because of that.
His hope is to make Me seem dangerous and scary, so that you won't run
to Me.
He knows that if you run to Me in your weakness and in your distress,
then I will restore and strengthen you. He knows that I will set you
on your feet, and cause you to stand and to persevere unto victory. He
doesn't want you to obtain that victory, so he whispers accusations
and condemnations into your ear. He tries to imitate the sound of
your own thoughts as he does this, so that you will think these
accusations came from you instead of from him. He wants to make them
as believable as possible, so that you will buy into his lies and allow
his strategy against you to be effective.
But dear one, as I have said in My word, there is a time and a season
for all things. There are indeed times when I do call you persevere and
press into Myself, so that you might grow closer to Me. There are times
when I call you to pray diligently in faith, so that you may obtain
spiritual breakthrough by your intercession. There are times when
I sound the battle horn and call you to war; and in those times I do
expect you to don the full armor that I have given you and to fight
with all of your might.
But there are also times when I call you to simply stand and endure
My fire and conviction as I work My refinement in your life. I do this
so that you will become a holy and pure vessel, able to carry a
greater portion of My glory and able to move in greater measures of
My anointing. And in those times, I do not release condemnation on
you, nor do I expect you to run your race as effectively as you do when
you are unencumbered.
Dear one, I know that you will slow down as I apply My refiners fire
to your life, and I do not hold you to the same standard of performance
as I do in other times. This is not a time where I want you to
accomplish things for Me, or to take ground to advance My kingdom. It
is the time when I want you to submit to My hand of gentle
correction on your life, that you might mature and grow. It is not a
time for doing much; it is a time for refinement, purification and
maturation. At times, it will be all you can do to endure the fire,
and during those brief seasons, I won't be expecting much else from
you than your submission to My hand and heart that remains
steadfast after Me.
Do not think that I am angry with you when I call you into My fire.
I do not do it to punish you, but to prepare you to move up to
higher levels of glory in Me. It is like a potter who makes a
beautiful clay pot, carefully forming it to perfection. If He
simply allows that clay to dry and does not put that pot into the
fire, it will be a weak vessel. It's internal structure will not be
strengthened from within, and it will crumble as soon as he starts
to use it.
Dear one, I am the Master Potter and I want you to trust Me with
your life and with your destiny. My fire is not to disqualify you
but to strengthen and purify you--and I refine you so that you
will become a vessel of perfection, well suited to carry My glory.
So do not allow the enemy of your soul to condemn you because I
have placed you into My kiln and allowed you to feel the heat of
My refining fire. I am not displeased with you. To the contrary, I
am looking forward with eager anticipation to the time when I can
take you out of oven, fill you with a greater measure of My glory
and show you off to others, taking pride and pleasure in the good
work I have done in you.
