Thoughts From Teresa

By Teresa Seputis

Addendum to Lesson 7
Super Sets

Yesterday on "Thoughts From Teresa" I talked about my exercise program and how when you work out on weight equipment, you spend half of your time resting between sets. I had a workout with my trainer later that day, and he introduced me to something called "super sets." That is where you work out on two pieces of equipment at once. You do a set on machine 1. Then instead of resting for the next 45 to 60 seconds, you go to machine 2 and do a set (working different muscles) on that machine. Then you go back to machine 1 and do your second set, and so on. That way you don't rest, you use the time to work a different muscle. Super sets is a much harder work out than doing regular sets because you work all the time instead of resting half the time.

Anyhow, I guess God is trying to keep me humble by having the "technical infomation" I gave on exercising become "out of date" on the same day that I gave it. Since I learned about super sets, I figured I should pass that on to supplement what I said about exercise in yesterday's "Throughs From Teresa." If you work out on weight equipment, you can do either way... regular sets or super sets. Both are valid but super sets are harder.

For those of you who are really sick of the whole subject of health, diet and exercise, I really do hope to be talking about something else next week :)
