Blessing in A Dry Time

(Oct 4, 1999)

I had been going through a dry season. Last night I trudged to the train and one escalator was down so the station was packed and as I saw my train, there was such a queue of people that I held back intending to wait for another one, but a passage seemed to open and I stepped on the crowded train. I was immediately 'drawn' to a young woman standing there. I only saw the back of her but she was surrounded by God's love for her, as if she was in a bubble, a circle of it. As I 'felt' this I felt pain in her and closed my eyes to pray in my heart. As I did this people were still shoving in and she was bumped and knocked her mouth which started to bleed and she whimpered and I noticed she wept. I tried to get closer to her but couldn't and stood praying and just being washed over with God's love.

Two stops before mine I had my chance and I asked her if she was okay. She stared at me with distrust (strangers NEVER talk in the trains in London) and I said I'd seen she was bumped and I was sorry she was in pain. She burst into tears and told me she had had £500 stolen, her rent money, in a shop that day. I put an arm around her and told her not to worry because she would be okay and God loved her. She stared at me and asked how I knew. I asked if she was a Christian and she said yes, and I put my arms around her and said 'Praise God, sister so am I.' and she smiled and hugged me and I told her of that circle of love I had felt as soon as I stepped in that train, and the pain I felt before she was even bumped, and I was led to pray for her.

We shared words on the Lord and her tears dried and she left that train smiling. She told me she'd been standing there believing God had forsaken her. The Lord has often moved me to pray for a stranger in a train but never was I compelled, as I was this time, to approach and speak to the person. What a blessing this became.

In prayer, when I knelt to thank my God for this blessing, He revealed to me how all of us, His children, are constantly in that circle of love. When we walk, sleep, stand, whatever we do, we are encased in it. In our desert periods, in the times of sifting, in whatever situation, that circle of love is surrounding and protecting us and that love is 100% and refined and soft and gentle.

I have made a new friend in Christ and been blessed in a dry time. I pray that this is a blessing to all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ out there as you walk forwards protected by the circle of His Divine Love.

In His Name and To His Glory
Jane
